Headteacher's Welcome - Croeso gan y Brifathrawes

On behalf of the learners, staff and governors welcome to our website where we hope you find all the information you need about our new school.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if any questions remain unanswered after your visit and keep revisiting to see how our new school develops.

Haverfordwest High VC School, established in September 2018, provides education for learners in Haverfordwest and the surrounding areas in Pembrokeshire. The school was established after the merger of Tasker Milward VC and Sir Thomas Picton Schools.

I am privileged to be Headteacher and my aim is clear – to provide high quality education for all in a learning environment that is safe, inclusive and enjoyable based on a foundation of high expectations and aspirations. Working with our partner primary schools as a cluster we aim to raise standards for all pupils and hope to take advantage of the wealth of experience and support from the community to enable us to achieve this.

We have now moved into our new school, built by Morgan Sindal working with the project team from Pembrokeshire County Council and school staff.  The school is a superb educational facility for the pupils at Haverfordwest High as part of the Band B, 21st Century Schools and Education Capital Programme.

The new-building can accommodate 1500 pupils aged 11-16 and 250 sixth form pupils. Externally, the school boasts extensive sports facilities including playing fields, a WRU 3G standard rugby pitch as well as parking, coach drop-off and a new road access into the existing site off the A40.

The project also includes a separate sports and leisure facility, which will be fully available to the school during school hours and members of the public outside school hours.

We look forward to welcoming our pupils to the new school in September and will be providing a date for members of our community to view the excellent facility early in the autumn term.

Diolch yn fawr,

Mrs J Harries | Pennaeth/Headteacher
